A beautiful clip of young singers in Co Tipperary performing Christmas carols has racked up more than 1.5 million views on TikTok this week.

"All of us in the Ursuline have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for our rendition of 'O Holy Night'  at our Carol Service this week, with over a million views online since," Ursuline Secondary School in Thurles, Co Tipperary said on social media today, Friday, December 20.

The all-girls school said their Carol Service on Tuesday was a "truly special occasion" as it was hosted in the Cathedral for the first time, "a space so special to our school."

The school noted that this year was also the first time Ursuline Secondary School came together with Scoil Angela, St Angela’s Academy of Music, and the newly formed Thurles Community Orchestra to mark Christmas.

"It was a privilege for our girls to perform alongside them," Ursuline Secondary School said.

The school added: "Hannah’s voice, and the entire choir, captured the essence of this song perfectly.

"'O Holy Night' carries a message of hope, of a new beginning for a weary world and of the opportunity to rejoice together.

"We are so proud to have brought this message to the world this Christmas."

The Christmas performance by the talented young singers in Co Tipperary went viral this week after a clip was shared on TikTok by Stakelum, a local home and hardware shop.

The TikTok has racked up a staggering 1.5 million views in the two days since being posted.

"Just listen to that chorus!" Stakelums captioned their TikTok. "Blessed to have such talent in Thurles."

Stakelums added: "The incredible lead singer Hannah Murphy leads her fellow Ursuline secondary school students & Scoil Angela students in this beautiful rendition of 'O Holy Night.'"
