Pierce Brosnan has pleaded not guilty to two charges lodged against him after an alleged incident in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming in November.

Brosnan, 70, was charged with "foot travel in all thermal areas and w/in Yellowstone Canyon confined to trails" and "violating closures and use limits," according to court documents.

Both are petty offenses.

Court documents show that the alleged offense took place on November 1 in or near Mammoth Terraces in Yellowstone National Park. The charges against Brosnan were later filed on December 23.

As the New York Times notes, the court documents do not detail the events of November 1 or specify how Brosnan is alleged to have violated restrictions in place at the park.

Brosnan had been ordered to appear in court in Yellowstone on January 23, but requested that the court date be vacated with his not guilty plea.

Judge Stephanie A Hambrick agreed to Brosnan's request and vacated the initial appearance hearing, converting it to a status conference which will be conducted over the Court's conference call system.

The telephone conference status is scheduled for February 20.

Brosnan has not publicly commented on the charges he's facing, but he did post photos on Instagram on the day the alleged offense took place.

"A new hat from Aspen Hatter, Austin Texas," Brosnan captured his November 1 Instagram post, adding, "making memories in Montana."

Brosnan was in Montana filming his new Western, "Unholy Trinity."

A few days later, Pierce's son Paris Brosnan shared pictures from the Montana set of "Unholy Trinity" which the father and son both feature in.

"You rocked it Paris, took your space and held it strong with truth," proud dad Pierce commented on his son's post.
