IF you're in the market for a new PC and want to contribute some good to the world at the same time, then check out the new line of machines on offer from Dell, with a helping hand from Microsoft.

The two computer giants joined with Bono last week to introduce the new goodies, which will be colored a shade of red in honor of Bono's charity work in Africa. Various red products have already been successfully marketed by Apple, the Gap and Motorola, and a chunk of proceeds from sales will go to the Global Fund to battle AIDS in Africa.

"The computer has revolutionized our lives," Bono said. "It's a truly beautiful idea that the purchase of a stylish PC can put someone on lifesaving treatment for six months."

"The RED business model is a powerful way for consumers to use their purchasing power to help bring about positive change in the world," said Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
