Oscar nominee Richard E Grant has revealed that he’s in Cork for Christmas as he made the most of his time in the Rebel county.
Grant became a household name with his debut film "Withnail and I" in 1987, going on to appear in "Bram Stoker’s Dracula," "The Age of Innocence," and "The Portrait of a Lady."
The 67-year-old is in the midst of a career renaissance, having appeared in the MCU’s "Loki" and "Saltburn" in the years that followed his Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination in 2019 for "Can You Ever Forgive Me?"
Sadly, Grant suffered heartbreak in September 2021, when his beloved wife Joan Washington tragically passed away from stage IV lung cancer at the age of 74.
Often using his social media platforms to share his grieving process, Grant has been in good spirits in recent days as he travelled around Cork, where he is spending Christmas.
Sharing a video to X, previously known as Twitter, Grant provided an insight into some of the places he’s been to during his travels, including the Ballydehob pub Levis Corner House.
"Falling in love with Cork & the countryside beyond, atmospheric drive south for lunch @FingalFerguson who demo’d ‘Irish handcuffs’ with 2 pints of Guinness, then to @LevisBallydehob to experience its magical interior with my great pals @clodaghmckenna & Harry Herbert," he wrote.

The comments section of Grant’s post saw many proud Cork natives expressing their pride at having him in their county and giving him advice on where he should go next.
One person said: "Welcome to the county! We love sounders. And you’ve always been a sounder. Go to Ballycotton. Merry Christmas."
Another added: "Failte Richard, you picked a wet day for it but the pints will be sooooo worth it."
While someone wrote: "West Cork is fabulous as is one of my favourite spots on earth. Ballydehob. Enjoy it all."
2024 will be another busy year for Grant on the big screen, with the acting legend appearing alongside Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega in "Death of a Unicorn" and in stop-motion animated feature "Wildwood."
