The late great Robin Williams was the son of Robert FitzGerald Williams, a Ford Motor Company executive and proud Irish American.
Williams was a wonder as we all know at accents and he did the Irish one on many occasions, or rather a stage Irish version of it. Here is one of his most famous takes.
The 'Mrs. Doubtfire' star was found dead in his home in Tiburon, California, on Monday morning in what is believed to be suicide via asphyxiation.
The Veteran actor's publicist released a statement, saying: "Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss.
"The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."
Robin, who resides with his wife, was last seen alive on Sunday night before his body was discovered shortly before a call to the emergency services was made at 11.55am on Monday.
An investigation into the exact cause of death is currently underway and a forensic examination is scheduled to take place with subsequent toxicology testing to be conducted.
A spokesman for the Marin County Sheriff's Department in California explained: "An investigation into the cause, manner, and circumstances of the death is currently underway by the Investigations and Coroner Divisions of the Sheriff's Office.
"At this time, the Sheriff's Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made."
Robin leaves behind his wife of three years Susan Schneider and his children Zak, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 23.
He was a splendid actor, mimic and all round good man. His death is beyond tragic and we will miss him dearly.
So farewell Robin/Mork/Mrs Doubtfire/Dead Poet’s Society/ etc. You brightened a lot of lives.
