CBS rejected a teaser trailer for the upcoming “Three Stooges” remake according to Deadline.com. The 60-second trailer is a spoof of a generic prescription drug ad.
The commercials' narrator opens with the statement: "Ever dropped a bell on a nun, ripped the armpit hair off an old man, or stuffed a live lobster down a loved one's pants? Then you may suffer from being a stooge".
The ad was scheduled to play during NCAA Men's Basketball Championship on Monday night but the TV network reportedly banned it because it “[made] light of prescription drug ads.”
Starring Sean Hayes, Chris Diamantopoulos and Will Sasso as “The Three Stooges”, the movie follows the three friends who try to save their childhood Sisters of Mercy orphanage, stumble onto a murder plot and wind up starring in a reality TV show.
It hits theatres April 13.
