Shia LaBeouf, the young actor who starred in a big hit this summer, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and a bigger car accident which resulted in his left hand being shattered, has had to pull out a film project written by a Dublin author because of the injury.

Filming was supposed to have started on "Dark Fields," a novel penned by Alan Glynn, this fall. But apparently LaBeouf is recovering from the accident more slowly than expected, and he'll be needing more surgery to undo the damage.

LaBeouf was to have played the part of a man who stumbles upon a one of a kind smart pill.

Sounds like Glynn is quite smart himself, seeing that "Dark Fields" is his first published novel. It came out in 2002, and the author was poised to travel to the U.S. to meet LaBeouf before the year is out.

If an A-lister like LaBeouf was so interested in the part, it's quite likely that another top notch star won't be shy to follow.
