THERE"S another creatively named Geldof girl making the rounds in London, and this one has just landed the coveted cover of Tatler, one of Britain's most widely read magazines.
Pixie Geldof, youngest daughter of Sir Bob Geldof and younger sister to tearaway Peaches Geldof, is the "coolest girl in town," meaning London, according to Tatler. That's quite a title for a young lady who in this country couldn't legally drink, but Peaches, who's still in school, has found a way into some of the city's trendiest nightspots with her equally trendy friends.
"Pixie has good manners and always obeys her dad's curfew during the school term," Tatler editor Geordie Grieg wrote of his subject, also calling her a "style icon" and "leader of London's teenage style." Phew!
"She does not play the 'I am the daughter of' card. But her eloquence and direct manner are inherited from her dad, and her vital beauty very much from her mother," Grieg added. (Clearly, it wasn't too hard-hitting of an interview Mr. Grieg conducted!)
Pixie, who says she might follow her Irish dad into the music industry, likes Britney Spears, Led Zeppelin and the Cure. As far as her stylish clothing choices, the teen says she trolls the thrift shops as opposed to spending on designer duds.
"Why would I want to wear a dress that 50,000 other women are wearing?" she says.
Elder sis Peaches, all of 19, recently received an avalanche of bad publicity in Britain for allegedly being caught on video buying drugs. Pixie has had her share of tabloid headlines, too, as she was suspended from school last year for smoking and drinking.
The Tatler cover must be bittersweet for her, though. Her late mom Paula Yates posed for the cover 26 years ago. Yates tragically died in 2000 from a heroin overdose.
