IT may have been the last time they'll play Ireland, and the Rolling Stones certainly gave it their all at their concert in Slane Castle in Co. Meath last Saturday night.

The first show in the storied venue since 2004, Mick Jagger and his fellow senior Stones opened their set with "Start Me Up," complete with a spectacular fireworks show, according to gushing media reports on the concert.

Thankfully their set list was chock-full of classics like "Satisfaction," "Brown Sugar" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash." Mick fed off the sold-out crowd's energy.

"Its great to be back," he said. "It's been 25 years since we played Slane, and we're still looking great." Very true!

Guitarist Ron Wood also displayed another skill in Ireland last week when he launched an exhibition of his art work.

"I am really looking forward to exhibiting in Dublin, it's a beautiful city and one of the places I feel especially at home," said Wood, who showed, among other things, a pencil portrait of himself and Rod Stewart.

"Ireland is a magical and spiritual place and gives me a brilliant creative energy," added Wood, who has a home in Co. Kildare and spends lots of time there.
