In a new episode that was shot for the US show last month, the five-piece boy band – made up of Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes – are seen being warned by police in Los Angeles for trespassing while they film their new video.
After the group sit looking sulky on a curb as law enforcement officers give them an official warning, Jay – who is believed to have been in on the prank- is then seen being arrested and cuffed by cops, leaving Max with his head in his hands, MailOnline reports.
However, that isn’t the end of the trouble, as Tom is later instructed by police to lie on the floor with his hands above his head, a standard position for people when they are arrested by the police.
Season nine of ‘Punk’d’ premieres on March 29 when the outcome of the stunt will be revealed.
This isn’t the first time The Wanted have featured on a US TV show, as their hit song ‘Glad You Came’ recently featured on ‘Glee’, and Tom admitted the group’s rise to fame in the US has been "absolutely crazy”.
He explained: "Things have gone absolutely crazy. I can't believe it. We always wanted that aim to go and do it in America.
"We did under the radar [in the U.K.] and it's kind of going back to the old traditional way that boy bands and bands used to do it, I suppose. It feels good and we're doing it old school."
