Irish duo Thewlis have looked to the upcoming US election for inspiration as they release their latest single, "Jesus Guns Babies."
Thewlis, consisting of singer/lead guitarist Danny McElhinney and guitarist Cormac Curtis, is looking west ahead of the upcoming US Presidential election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
The song’s attention-grabbing title is borrowed from the campaign slogan of Republican Kandiss Taylor, who ran for Governor of Georgia in 2022.

The pair wrote the song after being incredulous that the phrase "Jesus Guns Babies" could be used as a legitimate campaign slogan - with Danny saying they used it as a jumping-off point for highlighting the state of US politics.
"The upcoming US election is the most important election in America that I can ever remember," Danny, music journalist for the Irish Mail on Sunday, says.
"The result will be controversial regardless of who wins. The country appears to be teetering on the brink of a civil war and that is not fake news."
Produced by Peter Holidai at Pilgrim Sound in Dublin, who also played bass and programmed the drums as well as mixing and mastering the track, "Jesus Guns Babies" is the band’s seventh single, and a follow-up to "While the Red Light’s On."
