A new teaser for the upcoming "Game of Thrones" spin-off "The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" dropped recently and if you look closely, you might be able to spot a familiar face.

While some of us might not have realized it at the time, there was a definite glimpse of "Love/Hate" star Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and the HBO team later confirmed his casting in the series.

The Nidge actor has been cast as Plummer in the series which is currently filming up in Belfast, and will focus on "The Hedge Knight" adventure of "Dunk and Egg."

This new series is set 100 years before the main "Game of Thrones" storyline, and 100 years after "House of the Dragon's" events and stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Aegon "Egg" Targaryen.

Some fans might recognise Peter Claffey from his appearances in "Bad Sisters' on Apple TV+ or season three of "Vikings: Valhalla," but others might remember him as one of Ireland's up-and-coming stars on the rugby pitch.

While Claffey didn't make it to the senior team, he was a member of the U20s Irish national team and represented Ireland at an underage level and was part of Connacht for three years as a Lock.

After he left Connacht in 2018, having not made it to the senior team, Claffey reportedly decided to pivot and began pursuing a career in acting, making his stage debut in 2022.

When the news hit the web that the Irishman had been cast in the lead role of the upcoming HBO series, Connacht Rugby took to social media to send their congrats to their former player, reminding him not to forget his "rugby roots."

As for his co-star, Dexter Sol Ansell, the young actor started his career in the soap "Emmerdale" and has gone on to appear in "The Midwich Cuckoos" and "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes."

In addition to Tom's announcement, it was confirmed Finn Bennett, Bertie Carvel, Daniel Ings, Edward Ashley, and Henry Ashton have also joined the cast.

The series has been created by George R R Martin and Ira Park, with both acting as executive producers alongside Ryan Condal (who is the showrunner for 'House of the Dragon'), Vince Gerardis, Sarah Bradshaw, and Owen Harris.

Based on Martin’s "Tales of Dunk and Egg," the first season will comprise of six episodes and will be released on HBO and Max (and hopefully Sky Atlantic on our shores) in 2025.
