PIERCE Turner is back in New York at the renowned Joe's Pub on September 27 promoting Catch a Wave, a new five track mini album. The lead track, "Fading Away," is causing a stir in Ireland where Hot Press chose to include it in their promotional CD featuring 12 hot new tracks.

This is a rare chance to see Turner perform in New York and with him he will have his original partner (from pre-Black 47 days) Fred Parcels on vocals and trombone. Turner will also have the incredible Cady Finlayson and Rob Thomas on five string violins. They will attempt the new string arrangements that Philip Glass has done for Turner's upcoming album.

If you haven't been to Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street; 212-967-7555) you'd be well advised to plan a trip. It is part of New York's Public Theatre and is known for it's beautiful decor and high quality performances. The sound is excellent and they also serve high quality food and drinks.

It's a good idea to book in advance as Turner has sold it out on several occasions.
