The former personal assistant of U2 bass player Adam Clayton was accused in court on Monday of embezzling millions of euro from the world famous rock musician.
Carol Hawkins, 47, from Rathfarnham in Dublin was originally charged in January with 184 counts under the Criminal Justice Act. The charges relate to the theft of sums of money totaling up to 3 million euro from various bank accounts in the Clayton's name on dates from 2005 until 2008.
Hawkins appeared at Dublin District Court yesterday, where Detective Seargeant Clodagh White of the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation served a book of evidence on her.
