HIGH School Musical 3 cutie Vanessa Hudgens has plenty to smile about these days, seeing that the Disney film cleaned up big-time at the box office last weekend not only in the U.S. but around the world.

But what would really make Vanessa's day? Being related to a member of U2!

The actress/singer told Ireland's Evening Herald that she's a mixture of all kinds of backgrounds, including Filipino, Chinese and Spanish, courtesy of her mom, and Irish and Native Indian from her dad. She's not sure, though, how far back the Irish in her goes.

"I got a pot of gold. The Irish connection is something we haven't really explored, but I'm keen to find out. I'm kinda hoping I might be related to U2, Larry Mullen Junior in particular," she said, referring to the quiet (but oh so handsome) drummer for the band.

HSM3 opened in Ireland a couple of days before it made its bow here, and business was exceptionally brisk. Most of the shows were sold out days in advance, and on Wednesday alone the box office topped ?200,000, an exceptional figure considering Ireland's small size.

"It's on par with Sex and the City in terms of hype, but with a different demographic. The kids are very excited" a spokeswoman for Eye cinema in Galway said. "We're really looking forward to an exciting week in terms of box office results, given the Irish audience's awareness and love of High School Musical."
