Fans of The Wolfe Tones flocked to social media on Sunday night, October 13, to pay tribute following the legendary band’s final-ever gig.

After 60 years of entertaining their fans around the world, Brian Warfield and his bandmates took to the stage on October 13 in Dublin’s 3Arena for The Wolfe Tones' final advertised show.

Unless their bid to support Oasis at Croke Park next summer comes to fruition, the three-night residency in the Irish capital over the weekend was the last opportunity to see them in the flesh.

Capping off a farewell tour that saw them dominate the Main Stage of Electric Picnic, tour the country for the final time, and release a farewell anthem, the group played all of their hits.

Playing their iconic songs "My Heart Is in Ireland," "Let the People Sing," "Grace," and "You’ll Never Beat the Irish," the rebel band even found the time in a jam-packed performance to play "Celtic Symphony" twice.

Those who were at the gig took to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on the show and to thank the band for all the memories they provided over the last six decades.

One person said: "Well folks, there truly ends an era. The retirement gig of The Wolfe Tones. A magical and quite emotional night. Thank you lads for the music and the memories. @wolfetones."

A fourth person commented: "A dream last night seeing the wolfetones. A great set of lads. A small mention for @CiaranMoranIRE too by the way. Hadn’t heard of him before to be fair but what a fella. What a voice. Absolute talent of the highest order."

Speaking after the gig, Brian said he is "ready for a break" after "a very busy year with all the gigs all over the place."

"It was absolutely amazing. The crowd were so enthusiastic. It was unbelievable. We couldn’t have asked for a better send off. There was a huge crowd. Everybody was enthusiastic about it. Everybody was singing along with the songs. It was amazing," he told the Irish Mirror.
