Noted Guinness fan Jason Momoa turned 40 yesterday, August 1, and for his birthday his friends threw him a surprise party complete with a 168-pound Guinness and whiskey cake.
Jason Momoa = birthday goals. The Aquaman and Game of Thrones star turned 40 yesterday, but his friends in London weren't quite content to wait for his actual birthday so they threw him a surprise party on July 28.
Momoa's friend Mada Abdelhamid (who also trains the actor, including for his role as Khal Drogo on GOT), planned the party and captured the whole thing on film. After an autograph signing, Momoa thought he was just going for sushi with a few friends, but it turned out to be a massive party complete with everything a Guinness lover could dream of.
To begin with, there was a Guinness draught station with their awesome feature that allows you to get a photo of yourself printed on to your pint's foam.

But perhaps the best part was the 168-pound Guinness and whiskey cake. Custom made by UK baker Aggy Dadan, it took one week to construct and featured scenes of Momoa doing some of his favorite things: surfing, playing the guitar, and climbing a mountain. Other figurines represented his wife, Lisa Bonet, and their children.
Dadan told Business Insider that the most difficult parts were constructing a sugar surfboard sturdy enough to serve as a base for the mammoth cake and setting the figurines in the midst of a heatwave, because they kept melting. Her solution? Working late into the night during the coolest hours.

“I could not imagine a better reception,” Dadan said. “Jason said it was absolutely beautiful, and that it was the best cake he ever had. I think because it was a Guinness cake!”
Some guests even put their strength to the test, doing curls with the 168-pound cake.
Momoa is exceptionally passionate about the black stuff, previously taking a road trip around Ireland in search of the best pint of Guinness, and even bringing a can of Guinness with him on the red carpet for the premiere of Game of Thrones' final season.
Other friends at the surprise party included Momoa's Game of Thrones co-star Emilia Clarke and Ian Somerhalder.
