Jameson Irish Whiskey has partnered with two American breweries to release its latest Caskmates editions.
For its one-of-a kind Caskmates series, Jameson partners with small breweries to create unique whiskeys. The distillery loans the breweries used whiskey barrels to age their beer, according to The Manual. Then these beer-seasoned barrels are returned to the distillery and filled with mature Jameson for a short finish.

The Caskmates series began in 2013 with the Stout edition, a collaboration between Irish Distillers’ Midleton Distillery and Cork-based microbrewery Franciscan Wells. Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition, an Irish whiskey finished in IPA beer barrels from Cork-based Franciscan Well Brewery, was released in 2017, reports The Spirits Business.
Jameson’s new releases, part of the Caskmates Hyperlocals series, are collaborations with small American breweries Bale Breaker from Yakima, WA, and Revolution Brewing from Chicago, IL.
Jameson Caskmates Bale Breaker Limited Edition is finished in the brewery’s Topcutter IPA-seasoned casks, giving the whiskey citrus notes with spice and vanilla.
Jameson Caskmates Revolution Brewing Limited Edition, which is finished in the brewery’s Fist City Pale Ale-seasoned casks, is a full-bodied whiskey with hits of hops and vanilla.
“Jameson’s commitment to local neighborhoods is the cornerstone of our connection with whiskey drinkers and local tastemakers, across the country. Having the opportunity to highlight a shared passion for artistry, with two breweries that have been a part of the Jameson family since the inception of Drinking Buddies program in 2015, is a great feat for everyone involved,” said Paul Di Vito, Vice President, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Pernod Ricard USA. “Jameson Caskmates Hyperlocal Editions allow us to put the spotlight on these local breweries, devising a spirit that embodies the taste of our neighborhoods.”
These Caskmates editions can be found in select stores nationwide and retail at $29.99.
