Hosted by Irish Pubs Global, the annual awards rely on a publically nominated shortlist that then goes under a rigorous judging process.
Pubs from all around the world were honored at the ceremony, including bars in the US, China, Australia, Mexico, and the UK, among others.
Tír na Nóg is in good company as many American bars took home titles: The Liffey in St Paul, Minnesota was awarded the overall Best Chef honor; Egan & Sons in Montclair, New Jersey won Best Food Experience; and Rí Rá in Washington DC was awarded overall Best Cocktail Experience.
Irish Pubs Global CEO Colm O’Reilly praised the quality of this year’s entries; “First of all, we have to commend the public on their great taste, as the caliber of this year’s shortlist was phenomenal.”
“It was a difficult process to decide the ultimate winners in each category, and we’re sure people will have their own opinions, but that’s the beauty of the Irish pub; we all have our favorites for our own unique reasons.”
At the ceremony, O’Reilly also announced that Irish Pubs Global would be rebranding to Irish Hospitality Global over the coming months.
The theme for this year’s awards ceremony was ‘Famous for Food’ and attendees were given the opportunity to visit some of Ireland’s best food and drink suppliers in hopes of establishing more quality Irish produce on Irish pub menus worldwide.
