Ireland, you're a beaut!
It's often said that there's nowhere better than Ireland when the sun is shining down on the Emerald Isle.
In recent days, Ireland has been enjoying a spate of warm, sunny weather - giving way to this spectacular satellite image recently captured and shared by NASA.
So wonderful is the satellite image of Ireland that it was selected by NASA as the Worldview Image of the Week last week.
Sharing the satellite photo of Ireland, NASA said on April 4: "A rare cloud-free day in the United Kingdom and Ireland is shown in this true-color or natural-color corrected reflectance image from April 2, 2025.
"The image was acquired by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) aboard the joint NASA/NOAA Suomi National Polar orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) platform."
NASA added: "England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales are often shrouded in cloud as these islands have a lot of cover due to the surrounding abundance of moisture.
"According to a 2012 study based on MODIS data, the probability of cloud-free skies on any given day over Great Britain is 21.3 percent, with a maximum probability of 33.3 percent in November and 12.9 percent in March."
NASA said you can learn more about fair skies in Ireland and the UK at NASA's Earth Observatory.
A cloud-free UK and Ireland? We’ve got the satellite receipts. ☀️🛰️

This isn't the first time Ireland's beauty caught the attention of NASA.
Back on March 17 - that's St. Patrick's Day! - in 2021, NASA shared this great shot taken by Astronaut Andrew “Drew” Morgan from the International Space Station:
Happy #StPatricksDay! ☘️ Similar to finding a four-leaf clover, capturing this shot of the southern end of the Emerald Isle on a clear day from the @Space_Station took a bit of luck — just ask @AstroDrewMorgan! pic.twitter.com/fPb4gGnot0

On Monday, Met Éireann, the Irish National Meteorological Service, said each day this week will be "dry and sunny," with temperatures in the "mid to high teens."
➡️Dry & sunny each day this week with temperatures in the mid to high teens☀️🌤️📈🌡️
➡️Feeling cooler along eastern & southern coastal areas due to light to moderate easterly breezes🍃📉🌡️
