A woman has bought a one-night stay in the home of supposed ax murderer Lizzie Borden for herself and her mother.
Now here's one gift with a difference. With "Lizzie" set to grace our screens this Friday, September 14, New York-based Sara Love won a recent online auction to spend a night in the Massachusetts bedroom where Lizzie Borden is believed to have killed her stepmother. The spooky stay will be a gift to mark her mother's retirement.
The mother and daughter duo, who have a love of the macabre, spent the night in the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast in Fall River on August 4, the anniversary of the 1892 ax murders of her father Andrew and his new wife Abby Borden.
The murders were witnessed by the Bordens' Irish maid, Bridget Sullivan.

Love and her mother Marie Schinck said that the stay was a "bucket list" event for them.
“I’m a little nervous to be honest,” Love told the Herald News. “Mom wanted the room.”
“We’ve read a lot of true crime together,” Love added.
Lizzie Borden's name is one of the most infamous in American crime history.
