Sarah Jessica Parker congratulates Irish radio station on reaching landmark 25th birthday

"Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker has congratulated RTÉ lyric fm for reaching as the station celebrates 25 years on the air. 

Parker, who is a regular visitor to Ireland along with her husband Matthew Broderick, said in a post on Instagram that she feels "very fortunate" to have lyric fm filling her life with "beautiful music". 

She also praised lyric fm presenter Evelyn Grant and "all the great hosts" at the radio station. 

"Happy 25th birthday to @rtelyricfm!!! To Evelyn Grant and all the great hosts at Lyric, we are very fortunate to have you filling our days with beautiful music," Parker wrote on Instagram. 

"Here's to the next 25 musical years."

Aedín Gormley, who presents "Movies and Musicals" on Lyric FM, thanked Parker for her "lovely message", while former present Lisa Cannon joked that she wished she knew Parker was a fan while she worked at the station. 

Parker shared a screenshot of her listening to "Lyric Through the Night" last week, stating that the program is "always so lovely". 

Launched in Limerick in 1999, lyric fm is dedicated to classical and arts music and has grown in popularity over the past 25 years. 

The station marked its 25th birthday celebrations with a gala concert in Limerick on May 1, the anniversary of the launch. 

In a statement, President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins congratulated the station for enhancing the "cultural landscape of Ireland". 

"Over the past quarter-century, lyric fm has truly enhanced the cultural landscape of Ireland, showcasing the beauty and diversity of not just classical music but also such a wide range of music that includes traditional, jazz, world music, musicals, and film scores," Higgins said in a statement. 

"It has drawn on such an incredibly diverse range which is one of the station’s greatest strengths. In embracing contemporary compositions, also and bringing innovative, insightful programming to audiences nationwide, the station has become an integral part of our artistic tapestry. It represents public service broadcasting at its best."
