"Life in Donegal is truly magical"- This couple are raffling a dream home in Ireland

Scott and Elizabeth Bauman, owners of Rescue Ranch,  spoke to IrishCentral about their hopes for their fundraiser "Win a Donegal Dream House".

Rescue Ranch, a non-profit animal sanctuary, at Tremone Bay in Co Donegal is on a mission to rehome elderly and neglected animals.

"We established the Rescue Ranch in the fall of 2019. We had been looking for the perfect piece of property to do this and the land in Ballyharry was just perfect - great grazing fields, small mountains, and a natural spring river running alongside it," explains Scott. 

"We take in any animal that is old or unwanted and rehome them the best we can. If we can't do that we keep them, we would never allow a healthy animal to be euthanized." 

The couple are currently holding an incredible fundraiser to raise funds for Rescue Ranch that will see one lucky person win a fully furnished luxury 3-bedroom home on the Inishowen Peninsula plus 1/3 acre of fenced land that the house is located on.

"The raffle will provide us the funds to finally build a proper barn and start working the land. Whatever is left over will go a long way in the care and feeding of the animals."

Tickets cost only €75 ($79) and each ticket holder will also receive a complimentary 1ft x 1ft patch of Irish land with a downloadable ownership certificate.

What can the winner expect life in Donegal to be like if they decide to move there or treat it as their second home? 

"Life in Donegal is truly magical. Where the site is located is like going back in time. Very few people live in this area and everyone looks out for one another, it is a great place to live or even raise a family. You also have a few small towns nearby for supplies and the occasional pint of Guinness!" says Scott. 

A cash alternative prize of €250,000 is also up for grabs along with some incredible runner-up prizes.
