The exciting kick-off to Pittsburgh’s St.Patrick’s Day festivities will feature the return of Ireland's only Men's Olympic Boxing Champion, Michael Carruth, and his Drimnagh Club to Donnybrook 2025, hosted by the Ireland Institute of Pittsburgh.
The 6th Donnybrook will celebrate proud Irish boxing heritage with a face-off between Pittsburgh area boxers and Dublin's prestigious club in a fifteen-bout amateur boxing match on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Priory's Grand Hall on Pittsburgh's Historic Northside. The team with the most wins will claim the Ambassador's Cup trophy.
All proceeds from ticket sales will help send Pittsburgh youth boxers to Dublin on July 4th, where they will compete in the Drimnagh Club’s 60th-anniversary boxing event, representing Pittsburgh on an international stage.
“We are proud to welcome Michael Carruth and his Drimnagh Club back to Pittsburgh to kick off St. Patrick’s Parade Weekend," said James Lamb, President of The Ireland Institute of Pittsburgh.
"This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors including, Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 9 PA, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 5, and the Pittsburgh Steelers whose contributions help make this incredible exchange possible."
