Sober St. Patrick’s Day® Grand Celebration returns for its 14th year on Monday, March 17, bringing a culture-rich, family-friendly, alcohol-free way to celebrate the “great day for the Irish!"
Featuring world-class Irish musicians, award-winning step dancers, surprise guests, and culinary treats, the Sober St. Patrick’s Day® Grand Celebration this year returns to the Church of Our Saviour’s vaulted undercroft, 59 Park Avenue at 38th Street in Manhattan.
The festivities kick off at 5 pm, just as the NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade is winding down and the bars are filling up.

Television and theater producer William Spencer Reilly founded Sober St. Patrick’s Day® to elevate Irish arts and entertainment over the holiday’s tragic association with binge drinking, particularly among the young.
He recalled: “On St. Patrick’s Day 14 years ago, I saw a group of completely drunk teenagers on the street, and one was wearing a T-shirt that read ‘St. Patrick’s Day Today, Hungover Tomorrow.
"That was the lightbulb moment that inspired me to start Sober St. Patrick’s Day®, a movement that spotlights the best in Irish culture and gives all kinds of people the chance to celebrate March 17th in a family-friendly environment."
He added: “Thanks to our sponsors we’re again able to do so at family-friendly prices.”
The organization’s new executive director Christine Harrington said: “We’re working to change the narrative around St. Patrick’s Day by providing a safe, sober, and festive gathering place for all to enjoy what’s best about the Irish experience—culture, heritage, and hospitality.”
