Virgin Media is thrilled to announce that its much-anticipated (and free!) Playhouse opened in central Dublin today.

Virgin's "giant playhouse" is a unique and immersive experience designed exclusively for adults. Taking over the Science Gallery Dublin, in Trinity College, the Playhouse has just opened its doors to the public and runs for two days only (July 5 and 6). This exciting, limited opening promises a vibrant blend of nostalgia, innovation and fun, with a variety of eight different game and activity zones, each set to rekindle the joy of play in adults.

As the doors have just opened, Virgin Media is now releasing first-look imagery of the Playhouse, showcasing its impressive final design and layout. The Playhouse features an array of bright, engaging spaces filled with games and activities tailored to discover your unique "play personality". Are you a Competitor, a Creator, or maybe a Storyteller? By the end of the event, you’ll know exactly what type of play brings you the most joy.

Many of Ireland’s most loved (and followed!) faces gathered last night for an exclusive first chance to enjoy the Playhouse games and discover their unique play personality.

The influential guest list included well-known creators such as The Godfrey Twins, Paddy Smyth and Sarah Hanrahan. Teachta Dála (Member of Parliament) Gary Gannon and his new wife, Clodagh, were spotted enjoying a moment of creativity and play alongside actor Johnny Ward and Sophie Van Der Flier (wife of Irish rugby star, Josh). Much-loved regional content creators such as James Doyle, Adam Kelly and Cian Mulvihill (Cians The Word) even traveled from various corners of the country to enjoy the Playhouse. These three influencers alone boast millions of followers combined.

‘Grá ar an Trá’ TV hosts Síomha Ní Ruairc and James Kavanagh really embraced the various eight game zones on offer, unleashing both their creative and playful sides. James Kavanagh particularly loved the Ball Pit Photo Op. Each guest brought their unique flair and massive social media following to the Playhouse, ensuring the event was viewed by millions throughout the night.

After completing the eight game zones James Kavanagh discovered his unique play personality was "The Joker"! Someone who gets a thrill from sparking joy in others.

Kavanagh said, “Virgin Media’s Playhouse is an absolute triumph. This event has successfully brought out the playful spirit in all of us. It’s a perfect blend of nostalgia, innovation, and fun, proving that play is vital for everyone, no matter their age.”

Content creator Sophie Vann Der Flier (wife to Irish Rugby Star Josh Van Der Flier) expressed her amazement, saying, “Virgin Media has truly outdone themselves with this giant adult playhouse. Tonight’s event has really reminded me that play isn’t just for kids; it’s essential for adults too! We all need to foster and encourage our sense of creativity and play more!”

Social Star James Doyle (or best known as Protein Bor) added, “I’m incredibly impressed by what Virgin Media has created here. This playhouse has reignited my playful side and shown how beneficial play can be for our well-being. It’s fantastic to see so many adults here, rediscovering the joy of play. I’m leaving feeling so light and happy!”

The first-look Playhouse visuals released today showcase a vibrant environment designed to stimulate creativity and fun, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
