St. Patrick's Day Parade hits New York's 'Emerald Mile' this Saturday

The Yonkers St. Patrick's Day Parade on McLean Avenue - aka the 'Emerald Mile' - in Yonkers, New York steps off this Saturday, March 22.

Organizers are likely holding their breath for some good weather on Saturday after the 2024 parade was postponed for two weeks due to severe weather.

The Yonkers St. Patrick's Day Parade relocated to McLean Avenue over a decade ago and has, not surprisingly, been embraced by the local community that is densely Irish and Irish American.

While thousands are expected to line McLean Avenue to view the 2025 parade, the many local Irish bars and restaurants along the route and in neighboring Woodlawn will likely be filled all day and all night.

There is a Celebratory Mass the morning of the parade at 11:15 am at St. Barnabas Church at the intersection of E 241st Street and Martha Avenue, not far from the starting point of the parade.

What is the route of the Yonkers St. Patrick's Day Parade 2025?

The 2025 Yonkers St. Patrick's Day Parade starts at Hyatt and McLean Avenues and ends at McLean Avenue and McCollum Place by Coyne Park. 

McLean Avenue will be shut down the length of the parade route from 11 am till 5 pm and the will be no parking or driving permitted.

Where can I park on the day of the Yonkers St. Patrick's Day Parade 2025?

There will be free parking at Empire City Casino. Free shuttles will be provided to and from the parade route from MGM Empire City Casino from 11 am to 5 pm. Use the Yonkers Avenue entrance of the casino to access the free shuttles. The shuttles drop off and pick up spectators on the corner of Hillview and Kimball Avenues, one block up from McLean Avenue.

Additionally, there is street parking on Bronx Blvd and Bullard Avenue on the east side of the Bronx River Parkway.

Organizers are asking attendees to please not park on the local side streets and to be courteous to the neighborhood. Vehicles will be towed at owner's expense if parked illegally or in resident driveways.
