Ireland is among the safest and most peaceful destinations to visit in 2025, according to a new report from Travel and Tour World (TTW).

Ireland joins Iceland, Austria, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, Portugal, Canada, and Qatar as being ranked at Level 1 on the US Travel Advisory, meaning they are safe to visit with minimal risks.

TTW says that additionally, these nations score exceptionally well on the Global Peace Index (GPI) - Ireland landed in second place out of 163 countries in 2024 - which measures safety, political stability, and low crime rates, reinforcing their reputation as the most secure travel destinations in the world.

TTW says that with increasing concerns over global safety and a rising demand for stress-free travel experiences, these countries have set the standard for secure tourism.

In its report, TTW praises Ireland for its "warm hospitality and commitment to visitor safety."

"Ireland is one of the safest travel destinations, thanks to its low crime rate, friendly locals, and strong law enforcement," TTW says.

"Most travelers experience minimal risk of serious incidents, and even petty crime is relatively uncommon compared to other major tourist spots.

"With a strong sense of law and order, Ireland offers a safe and inviting atmosphere where visitors can explore historic castles, charming villages, and breathtaking coastal cliffs with ease."

TTW highlighted how Ireland's tourism industry "actively promotes visitor safety" through well-maintained infrastructure, secure public transport, and a community-oriented culture that ensures tourists feel welcome.

"With ongoing investments in rural tourism and eco-friendly travel initiatives, Ireland continues to create a safe and sustainable environment for visitors looking to explore its rich heritage and stunning landscapes," TTW said.

Looking towards Ireland's capital city of Dublin, TTW recommends stops at Trinity College and the Book of Kells, the Guinness Storehouse, as well as Dublin Castle, while visitors are also encouraged to take a literary pub crawl, walk along the River Liffey, and experience live Irish music in Temple Bar.
