Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in June 1968 in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles by a 24-year-old Palestinian who cried, “I did it for my country” when police arrested him. The senator had just learned of his victory in the California presidential primary.

The assassin, Sirhan Sirhan, had kept diaries accounting his hatred of Robert’s brother Senator Edward Kennedy for pledging military support for Israel. But defense for Sirhan, now 66, says he was programmed to shoot the Democratic politician while under hypnosis.

Bill Pepper is the New York attorney in charge of Sirhan’s 14th parole attempt. He alleges his client was "hypno-programmed.”

"Sirhan was put through a process involving hypnosis and chemicals,” claims Pepper.

"Someone, some group or some agency did this," he said.

Pepper also claims that there was another gunman in the hotel.

"We know Sirhan did not shoot the lethal bullets," he told the “Daily Telegraph.”

"Witnesses said he was standing in the wrong place. He was there only as a distraction."

The attorney may be prevented from making these arguments during the parole hearing in California.

Both Sirhan and Pepper both insist the Palestinian had “no recollection” of the murder plot.

Pepper has said that he is hopeful ahead of the hearing.
