Investigators have returned to a barrier island, south of New York’s Long Island, in search of further victims of the Long Island serial killer, or serial killers. This search is a continuation of the investigation into the remains of 10 people found in the area over the last seven months.
According to reports in the New York Post aerial photographs taken by the FBI have pointed the investigation, headed up by Irish-born Police Commissioner of Suffolk County Richard Dormer, toward 11 specific locations. The photographers taken in April contained further evidence.
On Tuesday police were searching the 11 specific locations along the Robert Moses Causeway, just north of Ocean Parkway where the other 10 sets of remains were discovered.

Currently the police believe that a serial killer is responsible for the murder of four escorts, who advertised their services on Craiglist (Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Lynn Costello). Their bodies were found in heavy brush in different states of decomposition, possibly indicating they were left there at different times.
However authorities suspect that other killers who have dumped bodies along the parkway over the last decade.
