A County Down mother who fell ill and collapsed has shared her gratitude after her six-year-old son flagged down a delivery driver to ask for help.

Mum-of-three Liz Crooks had already called an ambulance, but when an Amazon delivery driver arrived with a package, her quick-thinking son Aidan informed him what was happening.

The now-viral moment was recorded on the family Ring doorbell, with many lauding Aidan for his actions.

Speaking on Newstalk this week, Ms. Crooks, from Co Down, opened up about the jarring moment.

"Unfortunately, I did end up passing out from a very, very fast heart rate," she said.

"I didn’t even notice that the camera had caught it until the next morning and when I did… I have to admit, I couldn’t believe he was so calm and got help like that."

Discussing her Aiden’s innate intuition, she added: "My son, he knew something wasn’t up.

"He did say he was trying to wake me and I even woke up with a blanket and a mop bucket beside me.

"He noticed something obviously wasn’t right and he said he was going to go to the neighbours’ house.

"Then he bumped into the Amazon driver – God love him."

Amazon delivery driver Brian is also a hero in this scenario, with the pair having since met following the incident.

"We’re just very lucky that the Amazon driver was there and that he actually helped," she lauded.
