WalletHub has analyzed 200 of the largest US cities across 17 key metrics to find the best place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year.
Included among their research metrics are Irish pubs and restaurants per capita, the lowest price for a 3-star hotel on St. Patrick’s Day, and the always difficult to predict weather forecast, among others.

This year, Americans are projected to spend $5.6 billion on the holiday - that’s a whole lot of green!
For their overall rankings, Chicago in Illinois has been named the best place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day for 2019.

Two cities tied for the highest Irish population in the US, and they may surprise you - Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and Naperville in Illinois both came in the top spot.
Perhaps not surprisingly, New York City ranks as having the most Irish pubs and restaurants per capita, but the Big Apple actually tied with Tampa, Florida for this distinction.
There was a five-way tie for the most St. Patrick’s Day parties and festivals per capita! Chicago in Illinois, Savannah in Georgia, Boston in Massachusetts, Atlanta in Georgia, and Washington, D.C. will all be busy during the month of March.
If you’re looking to save some green on March 17, head to Oklahoma City in Oklahoma, which was ranked as the city with the cheapest average beer price.

El Paso in Texas is predicted to have the best weather on St. Patrick’s Day, but bundle up if you’re heading for Huntington Beach in California, which is predicted to have the worst weather.
