A series of free outdoor summer events is set to kick off in Dublin on Sunday evening.

Starting at 4 pm on Sunday, July 7, "Summer in Dublin" features free musical, artistic, and dance performances in the capital.

Pop-up performances will take place across the city every Sunday until August 25, including events at South Ann Street and Drury Street on the southside. Events will also take place on Liffey Street, Capel Street, North Earl Street by the NYC Portal, and Wolfe Tone Park on the northside.

The series will feature musical performances from groups such as the New Orleans-style New Brass Kings, three-piece trad band Sin Deri Si, and Latin group Havana Club Trio.

There will also be dance performances from a collection of Irish, Bolivian, and Latina dancers and aerial artists.

Local musicians such as Sam Clifford, Sarah Fitzsimon, and Adam Grimes will also be taking part in the upcoming series, while visual artists will create murals and vibrant street art over the next six weeks.

The series of events is organized by business group Dublin Town in collaboration with Dublin City Council's City Coordination Office and a variety of local businesses.

Richard Guiney, CEO of Dublin Town, said the upcoming series will help celebrate Dublin's cultural diversity while also promoting local artists and musicians.

"With a mix of music, dance, art, the pop-up activations will not only celebrate Dublin's cultural diversity but also provide a chance to get together as a community and support local talent," Guiney said in a statement.

Karl Mitchell, Director of Services for Dublin City Council, said the series will encourage people to experience "all that is good" about Dublin.

"There is so much to do in Dublin City Centre for people of all ages," Mitchel said. "Summer in Dublin has been organized especially to encourage people to experience all that is good about the city at this time of year."
