Since 2008, MA musician Terry Brennan, has been singing a different tune. Having performed for over thirty years on the pub circuit, the singer, made the decision seven years ago to donate all the money he raised from his tip hat to benefit The Jimmy Fund. So far, he has raised $143,600.00 for the cancer charity.
This year, the popular singer decided to up the ante on his fundraising efforts by organizing a special weekend at the Cape Cod Irish Village this February.
Brennan explains "Well, I can't take full credit for the idea;it was something that Tom MacCormaic from The Irish Village and myself came up with."
"February is such a slow time on the Cape and I'm always interested in raising more money for The Jimmy Fund, so we put the two together."
This is the first weekend drive the singer has organized and he remarks "The response has been fantastic for the first year! There are multiple groups coming from all over."
"I know of groups from various parts of Worcester County, Boston and a large group from The Irish / American Home Society in Glastonbury Ct, just to name a few."
Not only will attendees enjoy one of Cape Cods most popular resorts but they will be entertained all weekend long with performances by Terry and The Brennan Brothers.
Brennan says, "I'm just hoping that this weekend is a fun-filled, relaxing, a great escape in the middle of a long, hard winter. where we can meet and enjoy friends and help support a very worthy cause."
"It's going to be a great first year!"
