Delaney's Irish Pub in Spartanburg, South Carolina has issued a public appeal after vandals stole a custom-made Irish flag from the premises on Wednesday, July 17.

Delaney's Irish Pub said they regretted to inform its community that two individuals "vandalized our property, broke a flagpole, and stole a custom-made Irish flag" just before 11 pm last Wednesday.

The Irish pub shared photos from CCTV of the the two suspected vandals.

"This act not only disrespects our city and establishment but also the cultural heritage we proudly celebrate," the Irish pub said in a post on social media.

"Our friends at the Spartanburg Police Department are actively involved in investigating this incident. We are asking our friends and followers in the community to help us identify the culprits.

"If you have any information or recognize the individuals responsible, please contact the Spartanburg Police Department or reach out to us directly."

The pub added: "Thank you for your support and vigilance. Sláinte."

A similar incident unfolded more than two years ago at an Irish pub in Ohio.

Just before St. Patrick's Day 2022, The Wild Goose in Downtown Willoughby shared screenshots of their CCTV and said: “Dear Guy who stole our Irish Flag during St. Pats Season please bring it back before we ask the Willoughby Police Department to find you … Please and Thanks”

Thankfully, the stolen Irish flag was returned just in time for St. Patrick's Day, a happy ending for what could have been a 'wild goose chase.'
