The mother of two teenage sisters who took their own lives within six weeks of each other has spoken of her joy after giving birth to a boy.
Erin Gallagher (13) and her sister Shannon (15) died by suicide in Co Donegal last autumn.
Erin took her life at her home on October 27 last after being bullied online. Elder sister Shannon took her own life six weeks later. The two teenagers were both pupils at Finn Valley College in Stranorlar, Co Donegal.
Their mother Lorraine gave birth to a baby boy at Letterkenny General Hospital on Saturday.
She and her fiancé Phelim Quinn, who got engaged in January, have named their new son Lennon, reports the Daily Star.
Lorraine already has a son, Sean James, who is five years old.
"We are just relieved that we are home and that little Lennon arrived okay," said Lorraine.
"He is a very happy little boy."
Lorraine (37) said she plans to tell her young son all about his sisters when he grows up.
The Donegal mother said she is trying her best to get on with her life following the death of her two daughters she had with her former partner Tony Traynor (37).
“I have tried my best to lead as normal a life as possible for Sean James but it’s difficult.
“Now I have two lovely little boys to look after, I can try and rebuild my life.
“When the time is right, I will tell Lennon what beautiful sisters he had and how much joy they brought to everyone they knew,” Lorraine added.
