A "state of emergency" was declared in the Californian city after flames began spreading last week as a result of extreme wind.
Twenty-four people have died as a result of the fire with a further 23 people currently missing.
"Inferno"
Kildare native Tiffany Stanley is living in the Hollywood Hills area of LA with her partner, Garrett Thomas.
Tiffany and Garrett are living quite close to the iconic Runyon Canyon, which is the latest to be going up in flames.
Speaking on Newstalk Breakfast, she revealed they could see the flames from her home.
"It just went from zero to hundred," she said, likening the fires to an "inferno".
"I couldn’t believe my eyes," she added, explaining that fires in her area are "completely new".
She said: "There’s always been wildfires out near Malibu and Palisades and out that way, but never in the west Hollywood area.
"It was unprecedented."
"Apocalyptic"
Tiffany said the scenes she has seen has been "apocalyptic" and look like a "scene from a movie".
She added that there was an obvious "air of tragedy and sadness" in the air.
The Irish woman went on to explain the added fear of arsonists, with one man caught with a petrol tank and a blow torch trying to set trees on fire recently.
"The worry is how many arsonists are there gonna be?" she wondered.
"It’s mayhem."
"Gonna sit tight"
Asked what their plan is, Tiffany said they were "gonna sit tight for now and just keep an eye out" as they don’t know who could be "creeping around".
While she estimated around 70% of residents had fled, she added that the area had managed to hire private security for night time to further ensure "nobody is doing things that they shouldn’t be.
"We don’t want to leave the house because of the looters and things like that," she shared.
"For now, we’re sitting tight and monitoring."
