The first judge in the history of the State to be convicted of a serious crime has been handed down a further two-year jail term for false accounting.
Heather Perrin, 61, is currently serving a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence for deception of an elderly client in Dublin’s Mount Joy prison.
Last November she was convicted of seeking to defraud a close friend by changing his will to leave half of his $1.5 million fortune to her two sons.
On her latest charges, Perrin of Lambay Court, Malahide, Co Dublin admitted to falsifying an eight page document with an intent to making a gain, the Irish Examiner reports.
She used funds being kept in a trust for a client’s son to pay for more than $4,000 in legal fees.
Her legal team apologized on her behalf and said she knows she should not have taken the money.
