Ireland grabbed a dramatic equalizer in the last minute of extra time when they tied world champions Germany with a goal by veteran John O’Shea in their European championship clash in Germany.
Ireland's soccer team looked like they had lost to the world champions after Toni Kroos gave Germany the lead in the 71st minute.
Ireland were outplayed for the entire game and only briefly threatened. Germany were so much on top that the final result was remarkable.
O’Shea was winning his 100th cap for Ireland and said after the match “A brilliant result, that goal was brilliant. My most special goal without a doubt, a fairy tale ending."
