Ireland is enjoying a spate of lovely weather, with Tuesday, April 8 being Ireland's warmest day of the year so far.

"It was another fine day today," Andrew Doran-Sherlock said on the Met Éireann forecast on Tuesday evening.

He continued: "And with a high of 20.2°C recorded at Newport Furnace [in Co Mayo], it makes it the warmest day of the year so far.

"And we can expect more of the same tomorrow [Wednesday] and Thursday."

Doran-Sherlock went on to say that some mist and fog overnight would clear on Wednesday morning, "leaving another dry and sunny day with highs of 14° to 20°C, coolest near eastern and southern coasts and a light easterly breeze."
