Dublin and Shannon Airports have announced the launch of Mobile Passport Control (MPC) at US Preclearance.
The two Irish airports are MPC-approved sites as of January 25, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said.
#MobilePassportControl (MPC) has launched at both @Dublinairport and @Shannonairport in Ireland.
MPC is also available @CBP Preclearance in Aruba, Bermuda, Nassau, & all Canadian Preclearance Airports. Additional info can be found at https://t.co/btOcvw8kUD pic.twitter.com/Q5loFoyb6E

MPC is available to US citizens, lawful permanent US residents, Canadian B1/B2 visitors, and returning Visa Waiver Program travelers with approved ESTA.
MPC allows eligible travelers to submit their travel document, photo, and customs declaration information through a free, secure app on their smartphone or other mobile device.
Use of MPC, which streamlines the traveler’s entry process into the US by reducing passport control inspection time and overall wait time, does not require pre-approval.
Travelers who successfully use the MPC app will no longer have to complete a paper form and may be provided a designated queue.
As a result, travelers may experience shorter wait times, less congestion, and efficient processing.
CBP’s MPC app is a free application that can be downloaded from the Apple App store and Google Play, and is currently available for eligible travelers to use upon arrival at MPC-approved sites.

Graeme McQueen, Media Relations Manager at daa, the operator of Dublin Airport, described the launch of Mobile Passport Control as "great news" for passengers traveling the airport.
"The launch of Mobile Passport Control at our pre-clearance facility in Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport is great news for the more than one million passengers who use it every year," McQueen said in a statement.
"The app means passengers are able to easily upload their documents in advance of arriving at the airport, which should mean quicker processing times, less queuing, and more time to relax at the airport ahead of their flight to the US.
"We're sure passengers are going to love it."
