The first of what will likely be many awards for Saoirse Ronan will come courtesy of the Hollywood Film Awards in Beverly Hills on November 1.
Saoirse will be on hand to accept the New Hollywood Award for her outstanding performance in Brooklyn, the story of a 1950s Irish immigrant girl torn between her old and new homes. Brooklyn has been celebrated at the various film festivals it has competed in – just last week it won the Top Audience Award at the Vancouver Film Festival -- and opens nationwide on November 4.
The Hollywood Film Awards mark the beginning of awards season, and Saoirse is sure to be a leading actress at all the top events. And she’ll be busy throughout, preparing for her first starring role on Broadway in a revival of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, which begins previews at the end of February.
