Has God finally come through for the beleaguered TLC network, home of the creepy Duggar family and the trashy Honey Boo Boo clan?
Maybe, if Roma Downey has anything to do with it. The Derry native – actress and producer of top-rated Christian shows with her hubby Mark Burnett – will host a six-part series for the network called Answered Prayers, which she and Burnett will also create. It bows on July 26 and "follows the remarkable stories of people in life-threatening situations who have experienced moments so inexplicable, so incredible that they can only be described as divine intervention,” says the trade paper Variety.
The episodes will highlight the stories of several miracle survivors, including a pastor stabbed 37 times and a boy buried for hours under 11 feet of sand.
Sure beats Josh Duggar and Mama June.
