The Galway hurling club took home their 17th New York senior title recently, and what a year to do.
Celebrating their 100th year, the club will honor the winning captains from their titles, and also former Galway All-Ireland winning hurler and GAA president Joe McDonagh with a gala night on Saturday, November 15 at the Astoria Manor.
Guests are expected from across the U.S. as well as from Ireland to congratulate the club on its victory in 2014 and to celebrate the 100 years that have made the club such a huge part of the New York GAA.
With a three in a row in 1964, ‘65 and ‘66, and another from ‘82 to ‘84, the club has a rich and deep history.
Josie Harte, Paddy Egan, John Maher and John Connolly are just a few of the brilliant players who have lined out for the club down through the years. Robbie Jackson was the captain this year.
