Pierce Brosnan, 60 years young, hit the Toronto International Film Festival last week with Emma Thompson, 54, to promote their upcoming film The Love Punch, about a divorced couple who have to re-team to get back their stolen retirement money.

“Em and I have wanted to work together for a long time,” Brosnan said. “We didn’t actually say that to each other, but it was like, we should do something together.”

Their characters attempt a diamond heist to get their money back, and Brosnan used his background as a former James Bond to good effect he says.

“It was wonderful to be able to play with that, to use that image that is so indelible in some respects and follows you around,” he said.

“In many respects it’s the gift that keeps giving...it’s still a joy to be associated with.”
