Robbie Keane has claimed he has no idea if he will remain as Ireland skipper when the international season resumes with a friendly against Serbia in the New Year.
Home in Dublin for the Christmas holidays, Keane told radio station 98FM, “That’s something you have to ask the manager, it’s like asking me who’s going to play in the next game. It’s not my call at all. I’ll just carry on as I have been.” . . .
St. Patrick’s Athletic have agreed a new contract with promising young winger Chris Forrester and have also signed striker Mark Quigley after he agreed to end his contract at Shamrock Rovers . . .
Swansea will make a move for Aston Villa’s former Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given when the transfer window opens in January. Given is currently on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough.
