Chloe McGovern flew from San Diego County to compete in The Golden State Feis in San Francisco and it was certainly worth the trip.
The 8 -year-old won third place in The Preliminary, and first place in The Preliminary Treble Reel.
McGovern has been dancing for three-and-a-half years and her grandparents from Co.Cavan must be very proud.
When Chloe was about 4, her parents took her to Irish events and festivals, and she says; "I just loved the music, I felt something for it."
The young star also explained the origin of her orange sequinned dress. "I saw it on the internet, and needed a dress for The Oireachtas in Phoenix, Arizona. So I thought the flames and the style was perfect for Phoenix".
McGovern has traveled as far as New Jersey to compete, and doesn't intend to stop.
"My goal is to be an Irish dance teacher," the beaming winner said, trying to hold up her two huge trophies.
The Golden Gate Feis is hot on the heels of the World Dancing Championships which took place in Philadelphia last week.
It takes place all this weekend and Irish Central will have full coverage Sunday.
