Jenna Shovlin, a native of Co Donegal, died suddenly in New York on Saturday, March 8. She was 31 years old.

"The sudden death has occurred of Jenna Shovlin, The Rock, Clogher West, Portnoo, Co.Donegal in Manhattan, New York," a March 9 notice on RIP.ie said.

"Jenna will be sadly missed by her heartbroken parents, Frankie and Kathleen, brothers Christopher (Tanya), Keith (Hannah), nieces Lilly and Jodie, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours."

The notice added: "May her gentle soul rest in peace."

Visitation will be at Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home in Sunnyside, Queens, New York from 4 pm to 8 pm this Saturday, March 15.

Burial will be in Kilclooney Church Cemetery, Portnoo, Ardara, Co Donegal.

Jenna's family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust in Jenna's name.

Jenna was a production assistant with Warner Bros film studios and, according to IMDB, worked on major films including "The Instigators" (2024), "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" (2024), and "tick, tick... BOOM!" (2021).

She also worked on the television shows "New Amsterdam," "Law & Order," "Power Book IV: Force," and "A Murder at the End of the World."

In a post on social media on Sunday, Clg Ard An Ratha in Ardara, Co Donegal said that Jenna's passing was "devastating."

The club said: "Jenna was a beautiful girl who had made a new life for herself in New York, and was a person who made a lasting impression on whoever she met, with a smile that lit up every room she went into.

"The news of her passing has left a black cloud over our Parish once more."

"We offer our deepest condolences to Frankie, Kathleen, Christopher, Keith, and to the extended Shovlin and Furey families on Jenna's death."

The club added that on Sunday evening, St. Conal's Church Kilclooney was offering prayers in support of Jenna's family as part of its Lenten programme.
