Michael and Liam were the most popular Irish baby name in the US, according to the latest state-by-state breakdown of top baby names.

According to a list, released by the U.S. Social Security Administration on Friday, Michael and Aiden were among the top choices for boys names in 2011.

Mason, most likely inspired by Kourtney Kardashian's son Mason Disick, climbed to the top spot for boys in 22 States.

Michael was the top name for boys in NYC in 2011 and the Biblical name Noah was number one choice for boys in Hawaii.

Liam was the most popular boys names in Colarado and Vermont.

William was the top choice for parents in 13 states including North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Wyoming.

For girls, Sophia continues to be the most  popular choice, as it was picked by parents in 22 States including California, Kansas and Nevada.

New York, New Jersey and Delaware favored Michael and Sophia.

William and Sophia were the top choices in Massachusetts.

Traditionally, a popular Irish girls name, Maeve ranked 61st in MA.

In 1960, Michael and Mary were the most popular baby names in New York.’

The Social Security Administration provides lists of baby names dating back to 1880 on its website, based on Social Security card applications.
