New York will take on Galway at Gaelic Park in The Bronx, New York on April 6, 2025.

New York will take on Galway at Gaelic Park in The Bronx, New York for the quarter-finals of the Connacht GAA Senior Football Championship on Sunday, April 6.

The date was confirmed by Connacht GAA, which published their fixtures on Wednesday, December 18.

No word just yet on when or where tickets for what's sure to be a sell-out event will go on sale.

Earlier this year, tickets for the much-hyped Mayo - New York quarter-final match in Gaelic Park completely sold out a week before throw-in due to what organizers said was "high demand."

The 2025 Connacht GAA Senior Football Championship

Seven counties will compete in the 2025 Connacht Senior Football Championship: Mayo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, and Galway, as well as the senior GAA football teams in New York and London.

The draw for the 2025 Connacht GAA Senior Football Championship, which was made on October 12, dictates that the winner of the New York - Galway quarter-final match will take on the winner of the London - Roscommon quarter-final match, which is scheduled for April 5 in Ruislip.

Meanwhile, Mayo will take on Sligo in the quarter-finals, also on April 6. The winner of that match will take on Leitrim in the semi-finals.

All games will go to extra time if needed and finish on the day - no replays.

The winner and runner-up of the Connacht GAA Senior Football Championship progresses directly to the 16-team All-Ireland Group Stage of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship.

Galway are the reigning Connacht GAA Senior Football champs and narrowly lost the overall All-Ireland Senior Football Championship to Armagh with a final score of 1–11 to 0–13.

New York last played Galway in the Connacht GAA Senior Football Championship in 2015. The Exiles lost to The Tribesmen 0-08 to 2-18 at Gaelic Park.

New York heads into its match against Galway next year after falling to Mayo 2-21 to 2-06 earlier this year.

However, in 2023, New York claimed a thrilling victory over Leitrim after the match went to penalty shots - it marked New York's first-ever win in the Connacht Championship.

The Connacht GAA Senior Football Championship Quarter-Final match is typically a huge weekend for the Irish community in New York, as well as for fans in Ireland, many of whom fly over for the occasion. While Gaelic Park itself is usually standing room only for the match, the nearby Irish / Irish American neighborhoods of Woodlawn and Yonkers are abuzz with excitement for the weekend.

Gaelic Park, meanwhile, continues its massive, years-long redevelopment project.
